Hello Elboya Families,

 

Last week we held our second round of assemblies as a learning community and honoured Terry Fox, a Canadian Hero.  Students participated in the walk/run with enthusiasm and were proud to show off for whom they were running.  We’d like to thank families for their donations towards cancer research.  This week we look forward to connecting with families on Thursday evening for our Meet the Teacher evening and Welcome Back BBQ.

Congratulations to our Elboya student athletes that participated in x-country last week. Almost 1000 students participated across the city!  Good luck to our Girls Soccer team tonight!

Once basketball games begin parents are asked to attend with siblings only.  There is limited space in many of our school gyms so please do not bring groups of people to watch.

 

Please ensure your child is bringing athletic footwear to school to participate in physical education classes.

 

Leaving Early for Extra-Curricular Activities

Please email both your child's teacher(s) and the office at sokryczka@cbe.ab.ca with the days and time your child will be leaving early, so we can ensure an accurate attendance record.

Staff Parking Lot

This lot is reserved for staff only.  Please help us keep our students safe by not dropping them off in the staff parking lot, using the appropriate drop off zones and encouraging your child to use the crosswalks.

 

Volunteer Orientation

We will be hosting a virtual Volunteer Orientation on Thursday, September 28 from 11:30-noon.  Parents who are curious about volunteering are encouraged to attend.  Click here to join the meeting

 

Band News

Grade 8 and 9 Band Families Save the Date! We will go to Camp Kindle from Monday, Oct. 16 to Wednesday, Oct. 18 for Band Camp! We will be learning weeks' worth of curriculum in 3 days and 2 nights, as well as participating in team-building activities and enjoying the great outdoors. We will need 2-3 parent volunteers to make this trip a success, so please contact Mrs. Bates to generously volunteer your time! lubates@cbe.ab.ca.

 

Elboya Band Bottle Drive: Oct. 14 from 10am-12pm. Start saving your bottles now!

Chinook Learning Services | Continuing Education | French for Parents - Level 1 | Fall 2023

Chinook Learning Services offers courses specifically designed for parents and caregivers of CBE French Immersion students. For Fall 2023, Chinook Learning Services is once again offering French for Parents – Level 1 classes. This eight-week course will help parents of bilingual students learn or refresh their French language skills, build their network of bilingual parents and support their children’s learning at home.
