As our Grade 9 students begin preparing for their transition to high school, there are several important opportunities in November to learn more about the different programs and pathways available. Please take note of the following dates:
- Wednesday, November 5: Unique Pathways Information Session, CT Centre

- Monday, November 24: Western Canada IB Information Night - 6:30pm - 8:00pm
- Thursday, November 27:
- Daytime: Henry Wise Wood school tour for designated Grade 9 students
- 6pm: Henry Wise Wood open house
- January 13: PVA @ Central Application deadline
- January 15, 6:00pm-8:00pm: Bowness (High Performance Athlete Development Pathway) open house
- January 27, 9:45am-12:30pm: Western Canada High School (WCHS) tour (for designated students)
- January 27, 3:30pm-5:00pm - WCHS Open House
- January 29, 5:00pm-8:00pm - CMHS Open House
- January 29, 4:30pm-6:00pm - Jack James Open House
- Jack James is a school of choice for:
- Students needing a personalized pathways approach to learning which includes access to a variety of trades and technologies, and students needing additional support to complete their high school education.
- March 1-15: Transfer request window
- March 15: IB application deadline
- Elboya will also be hosting an online parent information session as well as a student assembly detailing the high school registration process. Dates and times for these sessions will be announced shortly.
Western Canada High School will be hosting an Open House opportunity on Tuesday, January 27 from 3:30-5:00 pm for current grade 9 students/families who might be interested in learning more about the school’s option programming (prior to guidance visits and course selection in February). Grade 9 Tours for direct feeder schools will take place earlier that day, as well, so many students will also be able to visit the school in that capacity. More information about course programming for 2026/27 will be available on the WCHS website after the winter break.
