Physical Education Gym Strip

Students are not expected to change for physical education classes. Proper footwear is mandatory. Student must wear athletic shoes in order to fully participate in a safe manner.

Participation in extra-curricular activities is a privilege for our students in good standing. It is our expectation that students who participate are adhering to the CBE Student Code of Conduct.

Dress Guidelines

Schools hope to prepare our students with a foundation of learning necessary to thrive in life, work and continued learning in an ever-changing world. Our standard of dress aims to support students’ developing awareness of what is reasonable to wear in a place of learning and work.

As part of the expectation of courtesy and respect, all students are required to adhere to reasonable and respectable standards in dressing and grooming for a focused learning environment. Reasonable clothing is expected to be worn by all members of our school community in all school activities such as extracurricular activities, field trip experiences, dances, etc. If a special occasion arises that calls for an adjustment of the school standards of dress, students will be informed in advance.

We acknowledge that decisions about dress reflect personal expressions of identity, socio-cultural norms, and individuality. Although students’ rights to self-expression, comfort in clothing choices, and decisions about their appearance are supported, they cannot be absolute in a community of equals. Individual understandings of reasonable attire may vary but our hope is that students will make, or learn to make, thoughtful and informed decisions about how they choose to dress for a day of learning at Elboya.

Our community standards of dress:

  • School appropriateness of dress excludes displaying any messages or images that are racist, discriminatory, encourage hate, or support the use of drugs or alcohol.
  • Students understand how to dress for everyone’s comfort after taking into consideration our community value around protecting a welcoming, safe, and caring learning environment for everyone.
  • School administration is given the authority to require any student who is considered to be inappropriately dressed for school to cover up or change. This will be done discretely.
