At the end of this week, CBE students will be enjoying their first fall break.  This is a great opportunity to take a break from your regular routine, unwind and recharge so tailor activities to what brings your family joy and relaxation.  Students have been working hard so we encourage them to enjoy a well-deserved break!

On Thursday, staff will be engaging in professional learning on Indigenous education.  We will be focusing on creating more inclusive and culturally sensitive learning environments for all.  Our journey further demonstrates our commitment towards reconciliation.

This is the last week for families to drop off any jackets, mitts, toques for Jacket Racket.  Many thanks to Sheri M for organizing this initiative for our school and to all families that donated gently used winter outdoor clothing for Calgary families in need.

Remembrance Day Ceremonies

The Remembrance Day committee recognizes the importance of a message of peace in consideration of so many current conflicts in our world. 2023 marks 75 years of United Nations Peacekeeping. This year’s commemoration serves as an opportunity to highlight a hope for peace and show the respect we owe to past and current soldiers, veterans and their families.

Band

Many students, especially in Grades 6 and 7, have yet to purchase their own reeds. Please help them make sure they have what they need to play beautiful music in class and at home!

Senior Band students (Gr. 8&9) are reminded to make sure they have appropriate concert clothing for the Remembrance Day Assemblies this Wednesday. If your child will not be at school that day, please let Mrs. Bates know so we can set up the band accordingly.

Band Growing Smiles Fundraiser-  The Elboya Band winter fundraiser has begun! The deadline to submit your order is on Friday, November 17th and plant delivery is expected to be on December 5. Please purchase your beautiful, fragrant winter arrangements and support our program at the same time! https://elboyaschool.growingsmilesfundraising.com/home
