Today registration begins for the 2024-25 school year. As we prepare for next school year, it is important we determine the number of students returning to Elboya School. If your child(ren) will be moving to another school in the fall, please let my Administrative Assistant, Tammy McComish (tamccomish@cbe.ab.ca) know so we can plan our school’s organization accordingly. We would also appreciate knowing if your circumstances are uncertain at this point. Should your plans change, please notify the office as soon as possible. With the Lottery & Overflow situation occurring, the more information we have ahead of time will be really helpful.
Traffic Safety
Please remind your student to not walk in between busses. We had a near miss recently and it was terrifying. We urge parents to also follow basic traffic rules by not pulling u-turns or parking in crosswalks. Respectful behaviour and obeying traffic rules are essential in keeping our students safe.
Physical Education Update
A friendly reminder that Phys. Ed occurs daily, all students are asked to please wear indoor athletic shoes to Phys. Ed class every day!
Feburary is Black History Month!
Students have until January 19 to create a sticker design that raises awareness around the importance of Black History Month and/or celebrates an important Black person. They can submit their design to Mme Valji for a chance to have their sticker printed! The voting process will take place January 22 & 23! The best sticker design will be ordered and sold at lunch during the month of February!
The Enterprise and Innovation Class News
These students would like to thank the community for their support! We had a very successful campaign in December and as a result were able to donate $947.90 to the Veteran's Food Bank and $340.85 for the Canadian Cancer Society.
Fingers crossed for warmer weather by the end of the week! Have a wonderful week!
