This week we are looking forward to celebrating the learning in music for our K-5 students at their respective concerts. We are encouraging families to please use the honour system and only bring 2 people to the concert (& siblings). Due to the limited gym capacity, it will be essential to adhere to these guidelines so that the overall experience is positive, for everyone.

Veterans Food Drive
From November 27 until December 20, Elboya students will be collecting food and other items for the Veterans Association Food Bank. Donation boxes will be placed in classrooms and students should add items in their homeroom / IG group’s class. Each food bank item will receive house points based on the theme for that week:
The week of December 11-15, the theme is Dinner! Items like: tomato sauce, pasta, canned veggies, canned meats, baked beans, canned chili, rice - each item receiving 5 points.
Baby items and personal hygiene items brought in at any time will receive a MEGA bonus of 10 house points each!
Candy Gram Sales
Candy canes will be sold this week, until Dec.7 for $1 each and students will be able to send them to their peers. Students must include their friend's first and last name and Homeroom class when filling out the tags to help with the delivery process. All proceeds from this sale will be donated to the Food Drive.
Winter Market at Elboya
Students in Ms. Hunchak’s entrepreneurial course will be holding a Winter Market in the Small Gym December 11-14th over the lunch hour. They will be selling a variety of items including candy, freeze dried candies and handmade jewelry items. Students are encouraged to bring cash to the gymnasium and help support our young entrepreneurs while supplies last! To handle traffic flow, we will be having Grade 7-9 students shop on Monday at lunch. Grade 1-6 students will shop on Tuesday at lunch. Sales will continue on Wed and Thurs while supplies last. All proceeds from the Winter Market will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society.
A friendly reminder that there is no school on Friday. (Dec 8)
Wishing everyone a wonderful week!
