School Council Updates - October 25, 2024

Parent Reps School Council is currently recruiting for parent class representatives for each of the elementary school classes and one for each of the junior high grades. Class reps can be called on to help teachers recruit classroom volunteers, organize small classroom celebrations and to send out messages to your class on behalf of the School Council and Fundraising Society. Jacket Racket Each year Elboya School participates in Jacket Racket, run by a volunteer organization that collects, sorts and distributes gently used clean winter jackets, snow pants, hats and mittens to Calgary children through the Calgary Board of Education and the Calgary Catholic School District. A donation box is currently set up inside the main doors of the school for collection. We are asking parents and students to donate gently used, warm winter jackets, snow pants, hats and mittens (no boots), in all sizes (from small sizes for young kids in kindergarten to large sizes for teens in grade 12). We encourage you to generously support this worthy project. Last year, Jacket Racket distributed close to 2000 coats to families in need! Band Fundraiser The Elboya Band Parent Council is running a 50/50 fundraiser until December 19. The pot is already at $970 (winner takes half). In November there will be Fun Lunches for grades 1-6 on November 6 and November 20. Junior high students will have a pizza lunch on November 5 and a healthy hunger fun Lunch on November 27.
