Grade 9 Farewell – Texas Donuts "For our grade 9 students, their final year of junior high school at Elboya is flying by! As we look forward to the end of their school year, we would like to mark this important event with a celebration for the grade 9 students. To keep costs as low as possible, there are various fundraising events in the coming months. The first one is the Texas Donut Sale which takes place on January 30, 2025. Texas donuts are delicious and famous for their astounding size (‘as big as Texas’)! They come in 3 flavors: chocolate, glazed and sprinkles. Donuts can be ordered via Healthy Hunger ( https://healthyhunger.ca/ ) by January 21, 2025 at a cost of $5. Please support our grade 9 students and enjoy these awesome donuts! ELBOYA CASINO - Call for volunteers! *Sunday January 19th, 2025* *Monday January 20th, 2025* Hello Parents/Guardians, Elboya School has been lucky to secure Casino spots on January 19-20 at Cowboys Casino! Funds provided from the casino allows the Fundraising Society to purchase essential enrichment items for students like technology (smart boards, laptops), STEM resources, art supplies, musical instruments, physical education equipment, literacy and numeracy materials and so much more! This is the largest fundraiser for our school, and it happens once every two years. The revenue from this fundraising event is expected to be between $70 to $80 thousand dollars! To make this a successful event we will need 35-45 volunteers. General Information: - No experience or volunteer clearance needed! Sincerely, Claire Wood (Casino Chair) Support your School - Volunteers Needed There are some important roles on the School Council that are currently sitting vacant. Fundraising Society President – A president is needed for the Elboya School Fundraising Society (ESFS). The ESFS runs all fundraising events (e.g: apple sales, casino, cheque writing campaigns) and oversees the distribution of funds to the school and for school council activities. The President is critical in driving these activities, planning future fundraisers, and helping “manage the money” for the council. School Council Vice-Chair – Work with the School Council Chair on school council sponsored activities. Provide support during meetings, for the various sponsored activities and in helping decide what events the Council will support.
