Greetings to our Elboya Families! We are looking forward to a productive year of learning and building strong relationships with amazing students and families. For families that are new to Elboya, you can expect to receive a weekly message from the school about upcoming events, initiatives. Best to refer to our school website for current information about events, activities, athletics, etc. We hope your student came home yesterday eager to share positive aspects of their first day of school. While there was a different feeling in our building without our Kindie to Gr. 3 students, we had a smooth day where students started making new connections with peers and building positive class cultures. A Welcome Back Assembly was held to further build school community…special to have everyone together again. Personal Electronic Device Policy Please remind your student(s) of the strict policy in place as mandated by Alberta Education.
How can parents/guardians and students contact each other during the school day? If parents need to communicate with their child during the school day, they can do so by contacting the school office. The office will facilitate contact with students during the school day when needed. If students need to contact their parents/guardians during the school day, they can do so through the school office or with permission from teachers. Parents are asked to refrain from contacting their child/student on personal mobile devices during the school day to avoid interrupting or distracting students from learning activities. Quick Links Calendar of Events (bear with us as work to continuously update the calendar) Athletic Tryouts Athletic activities will be starting up this month for students in Grades 6-9. Keep up to date with tryouts on our school calendar. Physical Education The Phys. Ed. team is excited for the year ahead. A friendly reminder all students are required to bring athletic footwear to wear during Phys. Ed such as running shoes. Grade 6-9 students can find their unit of study by checking their Phys. Ed Google Classrooms. We ask students to ensure they are properly dressed for the activity & weather when they are participating in outdoor units. For example, come with a jacket on colder days, wear longer shirt (not a crop top when playing volleyball, etc. Wishing everyone a wonderful week and a successful school year ahead.
