May 5 - Red Dress Day
Every year on May 5 is a National Day of Remembrance and activism honouring the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirited People (MMIWG2S+).
It began with the REDress Project, created by Métis artist Jaime Black in 2010. On this day, red dresses will be draped in trees, hanging from windows, pinned to jackets, worn as earrings and red hands painted across faces, people will be partaking in rallies and ceremonies to honour their loved ones, participating as allies and fighting for justice.
K-Gr. 5 – Physical Education Enhancement
Starting May 12-15, our K-Gr. 5 students are fortunate enough to be participating in the Calgary Classroom Crew Flag Football Program during their PE Blocks. This activity will run outside so please ensure your student is prepared for the weather!

Monday, May 12 students in Grades 1-5 will be invited to come and shop at the Market. On Tuesday, May 13 students in Grades 6-9 will be invited to come and shop at the Market. Wednesday, May 14 and Thursday, May 15 (while supplies last) the Market will continue to be open to ALL students who are looking for a deal as we try to sell off our inventory. Thanks to our community’s efforts, Elboya gave the gift of 950 pounds of food, which will touch the lives of 36 000 children and their families through emergency food hampers. Way to make a difference, Elboya!

Do I have outstanding fees for this year? Families are encouraged to look at their MyCBE Account to ensure that all fees are paid.
Staff Parking Lot
This is a friendly reminder to parents that the staff parking lot is off-limits as spots are reserved for staff. It is unsafe for students to be dropped off in the parking lot.
