I trust everyone had a great long weekend. As we head into the final stretch of the school year, we know students are beginning to feel the pull of summer. While excitement is building, teaching and learning are still going strong. In the coming weeks, teachers will be conducting important year-end assessments. To help your student do their best, please encourage them to get as much sleep as possible, eat well and build in some down-time between activities. Thank you for your ongoing support.
May 22 - School Council
Come learn about Elboya’s school organization for next year, which will include school hours & enrollment information. See you in the Learning Commons at 6:30 pm.
May 24 - Band Bottle Drive
The Spring Band Bottle Drive is this Saturday, May 24 from 10am-12 noon. Please save up your refundable cans and bottles to donate to our band program! If you're busy on the 24th, please send bottles to either the band room office or bring them to the Manchester Bottle Depot at 410 38A Avenue SE *this week* and tell them you’re with the Elboya School Band! Pick up can also be arranged via the "Skip the Depot" app: https://app.skipthedepot.com/esbpa. Let's see if we can beat our record by raising over $1,100!
We still need a couple of volunteers on the 24th who can drive around the neighbourhood to pick up donations and for other jobs. To volunteer, sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0B4BA5AD2DA7FECE9-51323552-2024#/.
Spring Market Update
The Enterprise and Innovation 7 Class would like to thank all the staff and students who supported the Spring Market last week! Students transformed the Main Gym into their own little craft fair selling a variety of items including snow cones, popcorn, candy, lemonade, bath bombs, jewelry and more! A grand total of $1,162.91 was raised and will be donated on behalf of Elboya School to the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS).
May 29 - Children’s Wellness Seminars
Elboya School invites parents from Elboya, Chinook Park, and Woodman Schools to join us for an evening of intimate, interactive workshops led by child-focused mental health and development professionals. Our guest speakers will lead conversations followed by interactive activities to provide parents with strategies and tactics that can be useful in fostering children’s wellbeing, mental health, and development.
Career & Technology Foundation (CTF) Showcase - Save the date. June 5 will be our CTF showcase!
Career and Technology Foundations allows students to explore their interests and passions as they learn about various career possibilities and occupational areas. We are excited to welcome our families into our building to see the wonderful work our students have been up to. More information to follow.
Wishing families a great, short week!
