We greatly appreciate our students’ continued support, since we don't have caretakers on-site. Generally, they have been considerate and respectful of their space. A reminder that Parent-Teacher Interviews will be coming up just before the break on March 20 & 21. Instructions on how to book your appointment will be shared soon. This is a critical point in the year for parents to hear about their student’s progress and support their learning journey.  We look forward to seeing you!

Food Bank Drive

Starting this week, Elboya School is hosting a food drive until Mar. 18 to support the Calgary Food Bank in their mission to make food accessible to everyone in our community.  Every donation makes a difference! Thank you for helping us support those in need.

Ramadan

Ramadan begins on the evening February 28.  For the hundreds of millions of Muslims around the world who observe Ramadan, the month is a time to focus on their faith and also perform generous acts. Many fast to remind themselves about those in the world who don’t have enough to eat. Students at Elboya who are fasting for the month of Ramadan can go to room 22 at lunch. It will be open as a space where students can be away from food. Elboya is mindful of this significant time, and encourages students to let teachers know if they are observing Ramadan so that teachers can consider their needs in class.

Extended Leave Form

We recognize that some families may choose to extend their spring break or pull their students for vacations at times other than during scheduled break.  School protocol requires families to complete an Extended Leave Form before the vacation begins.  This provides teachers advance notice of the absence.  Extended Absence Form

Athletics

Our Volleyball teams are headed into playoffs! Our teams have had an awesome regular season. Both our junior teams finished first in the standings and our Senior boys finished 2nd! Our Senior girls finished 4th! Well done falcons!  Many thanks to our coaches for their commitment and our awesome Elboya athletes for committing and working on their skills! Playoffs here we come! GO FALCONS GO!

Sleeping Queens Tournament

Elboya is putting on a 3-day Sleeping Queens math game tournament for grades 4 to 6 and grades 7 to 9. Students have a chance to learn the game and practice ahead of time and then register to play in the tournament. Encourage your child to take part in this fun and social math game event!
