We truly value the partnership we share with our families and look forward to connecting with you at our community building BBQ and Meet the Teacher evening this Thursday, 5 pm. It’s a wonderful opportunity to come together, strengthen relationships and celebrate the start of a great year!

As we approach the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, our school is engaging in meaningful learning about Indigenous histories, cultures, and perspectives. While this day offers a special focus, we are committed to integrating Indigenous ways of knowing throughout the year. Students will explore topics such as Indigenous self-governance, the novels Fatty Legs and This Place, sharing circles, our Indigenous garden, Indigenous art, the medicine wheel, and concepts of balance and interconnectedness.  These experiences help our students build understanding, empathy, and respect as we continue our journey of reconciliation together.

Basic Facts Bootcamp

Mme French’s Basic Facts Bootcamp has started! Students are coming in on Mondays and Wednesdays for the next month to learn strategies to make multiplication up to 10 x 10 easier to memorize and apply. Basic Facts are critical for understanding more complex math. Just like in reading, we want to devote our thinking to understanding the text, not sounding out the words, so we practice decoding until we are fluent. Times tables in math can be thought of in the same way and practice is the best way to develop automatic recall.

Online Form Completion

This is a friendly reminder to log into your MyCBE Account to update demographic information, etc.

Terry Fox New

Our school will be participating in the annual Terry Fox Run on Friday, September 26. This event is a wonderful opportunity for our students to come together, stay active, and carry on Terry’s legacy of hope and perseverance. Families are invited to support our fundraising efforts by donating online through our school’s page: https://schools.terryfox.ca/98307. Even better - every dollar raised will be matched by an anonymous donor, doubling the impact of your generosity. Thank you for helping us keep Terry’s dream alive!

Traffic Safety

For everyone’s safety:

  • Be patient, even when you are running late. Take time to make safe and smart decisions.
  • Do not enter school bus loading zones, stop or park in designated zones only so buses can safely pull into their designated space.

Have a great week!
