As the year is ramping up, students are beginning to get involved in a variety of athletic teams and clubs, including Drama, Yearbook, and Student Voice Council, with many more opportunities to come. We are also looking forward to coming together as a school community at our Welcome Back BBQ this week. It is a wonderful opportunity for families, students and staff to connect and celebrate the start of a great year ahead.

Truth and Reconciliation & Orange Shirt Day

Until Sept. 30 students will be engaging in tasks that embed Indigenous ways of knowing, being, doing and belonging.  Our work with Elders has extended our understanding, as educators,  to authentically weave Indigenous perspectives into learning activities, showing our commitment to reconciliation. 

We will also be encouraging students to wear orange on Sept. 29 honouring survivors of residential schools, remembering the children who never returned home and acknowledging the lasting impacts of residential schools on families and communities. The orange shirt is a symbol of the culture, language, identity, and freedom that were taken from Indigenous children and a reminder that Every Child Matters.​

Demographic Verification Forms (DVFs) for Students in Care with Children and Family Services

Updating the demographic forms is an Alberta Education expectation as they use this data to inform enrollment budgets for schools.  From a school perspective, it helps us access the most up to date information when needed.  Many thanks to families that have already completed their forms.  Please take the time to complete the forms if you haven’t already.
