Our students have been impressing us! They’ve been coming to class prepared with their supplies, which helps everyone get the most out of instructional time. We’ve also noticed how they’re limiting locker visits and showing kindness to one another, creating a positive and focused learning environment. We encourage families to support their student(s) by asking them about their homework and checking Google Classroom together.
Terry Fox News
Our school will be participating in the annual Terry Fox Run on Friday, September 26. This event is a wonderful opportunity for our students to come together, stay active, and carry on Terry’s legacy of hope and perseverance. Families are invited to support our fundraising efforts by donating online through our school’s page. Thank you for helping us keep Terry’s dream alive!
Meet the Teacher & Welcome Back BBQ - Save the Date – Sept. 25
We are looking forward to meeting many parents next week and celebrating the start of another school year together at the BBQ. More information will be sent separately about the format of the evening. Stay tuned!
Physical Education News
All of our PE classes are one week in to their first module and will continue in the same meeting location for next week! We have been working on Soccer, Basketball and Ultimate Frisbee. In athletics we have had a very successful first cross-country meet and will have the next meet on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at North Glenmore Park. Congratulations to all of our runners and good luck in next weeks meet!
Our soccer teams start competition with the boys team playing on Tuesday, Sept.16 at Rideau and the Girls playing on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at home against Mt. Royal! Soccer games run from 4:30 - 5:30 pm. Good luck to our soccer teams this week!
Our basketball teams are finishing up tryouts and beginning practices next week. Our season opens up on Wednesday, Oct. 1 with our junior boys. Unfortunately we are not hosting any basketball so there will be no home games this season.
A reminder that any student attending another school as a spectator for a sporting event must be under direct adult supervision for the entire time. If there is no adult supervision they will not be allowed to attend.
Wishing families a wonderful week!
