This week, our students are benefiting from a rich and engaging set of learning experiences that go beyond the classroom. We are proud to showcase our talented Jazz Band students, who will be performing and sharing their passion and hard work with the greater community. In addition, our Grade 7–9 students will have the unique opportunity to hear from Olympian Mark Tewksbury, who will deliver a powerful motivational message about perseverance, goal-setting, and resilience. Experiences like these reflect our commitment to providing high-quality, inspiring opportunities that support both the academic and personal growth of every student.
On behalf of Elboya School, we’d like to congratulate Mme Avdicos as she is one of the recipients of the 2026 Council for School Leadership Distinguished Leadership Award. https://www.instagram.com/p/DXz5qkLAVYq/?igsh=MXFlOWU2dHJ4emZjMQ==
Junior Honour Band Performance
Elboya is pleased to be a part of the 2026 CBE Junior Honour Band, an event that brings together exceptional junior high musicians from across the division. The Honour Bands celebrate the growth, passion, and commitment of developing musicians while challenging them to reach new artistic heights. Our very own Mrs. Bates is the Jazz Band Conductor for this high caliber band including students from across the CBE.
The event concludes with a public performance on Thursday, May 14th at 7:00pm at Bow Valley Christian Church. Family, friends, and community members are warmly invited to attend and celebrate the students’ hard work and musical excellence. There are no tickets required.
Mark Tewksbury is coming to Elboya!
Mr. Tewksbury is an extremely talented public speaker and creates lovely presentations but every one is slightly different. He often speaks about his athletic career and training, as well as overcoming different obstacles in his life. General themes of his presentation are perseverance, resilience and mentality in sport. We look forward to being inspired by Mr. Tewksbury’s message.
