We have almost arrived at the end of an exciting and successful year for student learning and our school community.  So many positive things have happened throughout the year which have continued to make Elboya School a great place to learn.  Our last week is extra special with many activities going on such as field trips, Gr. 4-9 Sports Day and our Gr. 9 Farewell.  Students will be receiving their yearbooks on June 25 and are super excited about having their friends and teachers sign it.   We would like to thank the students, staff, parents and extend a special “shout out” to all of the volunteers who have supported students in so many different ways over the year.

Who would have predicted we would have had a month-long disruption to learning in October?  Upon our return I was proud of how our staff continued to jump in and afforded our students many learning opportunities through athletics and the fine and performing arts. t takes everyone working and learning together to make Elboya School a successful and positive learning community.  We do not take for granted the privilege of being part of such a special learning community.

Staffing Updates

Last week you may have read that Elboya is in the fortunate position to hire 4 more teachers for the fall.  As such we’d like to welcome the following teachers for the 2026-27 school year:

  • Mr. Good & Ms. Akram will be able to return to Elboya
  • Mr. Boukrich & Mr. Pujolar-Brodland

Congratulations to Mme Lewis (currently on maternity leave) who will be moving to Bishop Pinkham School.

Volunteer Gratitude

This week student-made cards will be sent home with our volunteers.    We couldn’t do this without you!

Gr. 9 Farewell

We look forward to celebrating our wonderful Grade 9 students on Wednesday, June 24 at their Farewell Celebration. If your student is in Gr. 9, parents are welcome to attend the Farewell Assembly from 11-noon on Wednesday in the gym.

Truth & Reconciliation Commitment

In recognition of Indigenous History Month and National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21st, we look back on our current TRC Commitment to Action and walk forward with a renewed commitment for the 2026-27 school year. This year we’ve committed to weaving Indigenous ways of knowing and being into tasks celebrating and recognizing rich Indigenous culture. Staff attended professional learning sessions with Knowledge Keeper Anita Crowshoe to embed Indigenous perspectives in student learning tasks. We are grateful for her wisdom and insight.  Next year we are hoping to partner with an Indigenous artist to work with both students and staff.

Lost & Found

There are numerous items in our Lost and Found including clothing, water bottles, lunch boxes etc.  The Lost and Found is located outside of the main office.  Students will have the opportunity to look at the items in the next couple of days, but you are invited to see if any of your child's missing belongings have been located.  Items not claimed will be donated to a charity.

2025-26 Fees

Fees are now due. A reminder that we ask ALL outstanding fees, from current and previous years, be paid in full prior to the end of the year. If you are experiencing financial difficulties, please apply for a central fee waiver. This waiver must be completed for a student to be considered for a school-based waiver of fees.
