Thank you for your support in helping students get back into the rhythm of learning after the holidays. Consistent routines make a big difference this time of year, and we truly appreciate your partnership.  A huge thank you as well to all parents who helped with our Grade 8 Science field trip and supported our junior high pizza lunch last week. Your involvement helps create great experiences for our students.

Physical Education Information

On Monday, Jan 12 we will be starting our next round of modules. Each module will be one week (badminton will have an additional week in one of the next rounds).

Group A - Badminton - Skill Development (main gym)

Group B - Handball (small gym)

Group C - Walking (Room 1) - Dress appropriately for the weather!

**Please make sure your student’s human sexuality form has been filled out and returned.

Athletics Information

Volleyball tryouts have begun, and teams will be selected this week. Our season starts with games the week of Jan. 19. Good luck to all our athletes! Permission forms, student athlete contract and fees are due before the first game.

Intramural Info.

We will be starting badminton for intramural on Monday, Jan. 12. Due to the large number of students and the limited space for badminton the schedule will be modified.

Monday - Grade 6 only

Tuesday - Grade 7 only

Wednesday - Grade 8 only

Thursday - Grade 9 only

Band Presentations

Our Grade 6 and 7 Bands will be performing in class, on Thursday, January 15.

  • Grade 6 Concert: 10:10 AM
  • Grade 7 Concert: 1:20 PM

Lead Program Opportunity

The City of Calgary offers a certification leadership program for youth Grades 7 - 12 called Leadership, Empowerment, Achieving a Difference (LEAD). This program has two requirements.

1. Completion of 9 pre-determined modules, on various aspects of leadership and

2. Completion of 20 hours of practicum experience, to put learned leadership skills into practice. 

This program will be offered after school at Elboya.  This is not a CBE sponsored program, rather the City of Calgary is renting the school space.  See information about the program and package registration attached. Elboya LEAD registration package.pdf

Report Card Update

Parents received communication last week that the report card deadline has been extended due to the labour action in the fall.  Kindergarten to Grade 9 Report Cards will be available starting Feb. 24, 2026.  

BELCANFRAN Exchange

You are invited to attend a presentation on the Belcanfran reciprocal 11-week exchange program. The presentation will be made by Lise and Ron May who have coordinated reciprocal exchanges in France and Belgium for the past 19 years.

Belcanfran is a NON-FOR-PROFIT reciprocal family exchange between Alberta and France/Belgium that promotes the French language development through a linguistic and cultural immersion within family and school setting.
