A huge thank you to Becky Sparrow and Chelsea Erhardt for planning such a memorable dance for our K-Gr. 6 students, last week.  There were many in attendance and lots of fun was had.  It was a wonderful community building event!

Also last week our community received an update about the redesign, stating that the Trustee’s voted for Home Education to be relocated to Bel-Aire School. Windsor Park will become a K-Gr.3 school comprised of Elboya students. Going forward Elboya will become a middle school with a configuration of Grade 4-9 (for 1 year and the Gr. 5-9 thereafter).  This significant communication and shift will kickstart planning and preparations for the 2025-26 school year.  This decision reflects a thoughtful approach to optimizing learning spaces and ensuring the best possible educational experience for students. It sets a strong foundation for the future and allows for a smooth transition as we prepare for the 2025-26 school year.

Band News

Our first major bottle drive of the year will be from 10-12pm this Saturday, Feb. 22. All families can help by saving their bottles and sending them to the school on Saturday morning between 10am-12pm. We urgently need 3-4 volunteers on Saturday morning to drive and pick up bottles around the school neighbourhood, even if only for an hour. If you can volunteer, please use our sign-up genius: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0B4BA5AD2DA7FECE9-51323552-2024#/.

Many thanks from Mrs. Bates and all band students!

Culture Day – Mar. 6- Save the date

Our school data highlights the need to strengthen student diversity and foster a deeper sense of belonging. In response, our Well-Being Action Team and Student Voice Council are working to ensure that cultural representation is honored and celebrated at Elboya. They are currently planning an exciting Culture Day, where students can showcase their heritage through traditional attire, cuisine, language and music. We welcome parent involvement in setting up the gym to support our students in this meaningful event. Stay tuned for more details next week!

100’s Day

Tomorrow is the 100th day of school.  As such students are invited to dress like they are 100 years old!  Another option for students is to dress in pink, red or white to show their support for anti-bullying.  Like all spirit days, participation is optional.

School Survey

Starting tomorrow parents will be able to access our annual School Engagement Survey about the school development plan, school budget and school fees. The survey is open from to February 19 to March 5.  Please take a moment to complete the survey as it provides valuable information to us.

Stay warm, everyone!
