Learning is well underway as we head into October. Teachers continue to have high expectations and encourage students to do their best. We are pleased to see many students engaged in learning, meeting deadlines and building connection with peers and staff. Parents of students in Gr. 4 and older are encouraged to check PowerSchool regularly to get a pulse on student progress. Google Classroom can also be checked for information about curriculum content, assignments and assessments. As always, parents are welcome to reach out to their student’s teacher with any questions or for clarification.
School Council Meeting
Our meeting will be held next Thursday, Oct. 17 and the school portion will focus on informing parents about the redesign plan for schools in south - central Calgary as part of the CBE 's ongoing System Student Accommodation.
Band News
Band Camp
We need a backup parent with current CBE volunteer clearance who can attend band camp from Oct. 15-17 next week. You can use the wifi and have plenty of time to work from Camp Kindle if that is something you need to do. A Dad would be a great addition, because we have lots of boys and half the camp is outdoor activities. Please email the band teacher, Mrs. Bates, if you can help: lubates@cbe.ab.ca.
Thank you to jr. high parents for having their child stay for instrument clinics last Friday. Much was learned and the clinicians spoke highly of students' efforts and skills.
Gr. 8/9 Band Camp If your child has not handed in band camp forms, today is the absolute last day to do so. If your child will not attend camp, please send Mrs. Bates an email with the reason: lubates@cbe.ab.ca as this is required as part of the curriculum. ALL PARENTS of students attending camp should attend the mandatory online parent meeting: Tuesday, Oct. 8 from 7:00-7:30pm, Microsoft Teams Meeting ID: 269 089 115 710, Passcode: XV8BLG, JOIN THE MEETING NOW.
Band Fundraising There was an error in last week's parent message: There will NOT be a bottle drive this month. Bottle drives will be next February and May: Band Volunteer Sign Up Genius .
