At Elboya, we work intentionally to promote belonging by focusing on student well-being and recognizing and removing barriers to participation and learning. At the heart of this work is creating learning environments where our students and staff feel respected, supported and able to be themselves.
When students feel safe and valued for who they are, they are better able to learn, grow, and thrive. This month, we keep our connection to students at the forefront, ensuring everyone feels a sense of connection and belonging. We are grateful to the families, students and staff whose partnership helps our learning community flourish.
National Indigenous Peoples Day
Classes continue learning and celebrating Indigenous ways of knowing, doing, being and belonging through a variety of tasks and activities. Examples could include a visit to our local Indigenous Garden, reflections on the land, circle talks sharing cultural perspectives, to name a few.
If your family is interested in sharing an experience together, check out some of opportunities here.
Government of Alberta’s Class Size Reduction Grant
We are pleased to inform you that our school has been allocated 4 additional teaching position(s) for the 2026–27 school year through this grant which funds teaching positions that support improved learning conditions in kindergarten to Grade 9 classrooms. This funding is specifically intended to help reduce class sizes in core subject areas (English Language Arts/French Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies), with priority given to schools experiencing the greatest class size pressures. Elboya is so grateful to have received this funding will be very meaningful to our student learning next year.
