I trust everyone had a good long weekend and found the extra day rewarding, however it was spent by our families. Un gros merci…a big thank you to School Council for hosting a successful Family Dance for our K-6 students. A great time was had by all.
This morning we will be meeting with the Grade 7-9 students to reset expectations for the last few months of the year. We are seeing an increase in students not coming to class prepared and in cell/ped violations, going to their lockers between classes and an overall lack of care towards their learning. While a small portion of this is normal within a middle school setting, we continue to hold our students accountable to our high expectations. Parents can support the school by having a conversation with your student(s) to ensure they have enough supplies and encourage them to review their schedules to maximize learning rather than taking time away to go to their locker. Review the school’s cell/ped policy with your student as a reminder. AWAY FOR THE DAY.pdf Starting this week, those that are coming to class late due to a locker pit stop or socializing with peers beyond the time allocated between classes will be making up the time at lunch. Families of students who are repeat offenders will be notified. Parents are encouraged to also reach out to their child’s teacher, via email, at any time. We are grateful for your support!
