Dear Parents,

With focus being placed on teaching the new curriculum at the elementary level and the increased complexity of concepts progressing throughout the upper grades, parents can help their student by practicing basic facts consistently.  If students have their basic facts memorized they can focus more on the steps required to solve multi-step problems rather than being bogged down by simple calculations.

Here are some resources to share.

What is Number Sense?

This chart shows parents what basic facts their student can work on recalling.  Make math fun by playing recall games in the car on the way to activities, use dice or cards to +/-/X/divide equations, etc.
